"East of Westreville" has been teaming up recently with our good friend Kenny Putnam of Rapid City, SD.  We've pulled out the old favorites and tried some new tunes as well.  If you'd like to listen to the song "High Lonesome Sound"  from that show click here.  We have always included old friends with "EOW" and this collaboration has turned out to be something special.

We’re glad you found us!

It has been said that live performances should “change the air around you.”  It should touch a spot inside of you, reminding you of a similar place and time in your life and somehow leave you changed.  In 1997 we only had a dream--a new and exciting concept grown from a lifetime of experience as artists.  Here we are hundreds of shows and tens of thousands of patrons after opening night.  And we feel like we're just getting started...

We had been involved in successful ventures for over 20 years, but the South Dakota Arts Council gave us the backing to be an independent, multi-faceted company.  We produced “Always Patsy Cline, the immensely popular musical play that ran for nine years, that by popular demand is now available as a concert of Cline songs that features Kaija Bonde and the Poker Alice Band.

Today we offer a “menu” of musical events besides the Cline show: East of Westreville” is a collection of bluegrass, blues, gospel & country music featuring Boyd Bristow, Kaija & Bonde and Al Slaathaug--now also available with fiddler Kenny Putnam.  Of Thee I Swing” is an original review that recreates a 1940’s Broadway cabaret show, performed by Kaija Bonde & Gene McGowan’s Jazz Trio. Our latest project is “New Orleans Nights featuring the traditional jazz & blues you may have heard on Bourbon Street decades ago featuring Kaija & The First Thursday Dixieland Band.

We also help develop and perform in special limited-run projects, such as “A Night with 007,” a review based on Bond films that featured Kaija, Jeremy Hegg, Spooncat and the SD String Quartet, or “Broadway Pops” a concert with the SD Symphony featuring David Gaschen and Kaija. We also provide technical support for various projects.

Click here to read comments from visitors to our website.  There is also form where you can leave a message, too! The company is always working on new productions with a mix of music & theater--several productions are always available.

We hope that you enjoy what you see here and that it will inspire you to come see The Comfort Theatre onstage. Who knows… you may end up changed too!

See you at the show!
